Description
This extremely rare ES30 Coupé was purchased by the first and only owner as a new car from Alfa Romeo in Italy and was also personally transferred on the road to Germany. Afterwards in 1992 in Germany Erstzugelassen and since then into no further hands delivered. The designation ES30 SZ stands for "Experimental Sportscar 3.0 Liter Sprint Zagato". The SZ version was available exclusively in red and the production of "Il mostro" (the monster), as the car was internally called due to its body design, was carried out by hand at the Zagato plant in "Terrazzano dir Rho" and produced in association by Alfa Romeo, FIAT and Zagato. The ES30 model was based on the Alfa Romeo 75 Group A competition car, and the proven high-volume V6 engine received cylinder head machining, higher compression through modified pistons, a flow-optimized sports exhaust system and adapted engine management in the ES30. Torque and output increased significantly as a result. The transaxle design used also achieved very good weight distribution. The engine is located at the front, longitudinally to the direction of travel, and the transmission and differential at the rear axle.
Conclusion
The fact that only 1.063 units were produced between 1989 - 1993, makes this model a valuable investment.
