Description

The FIAT 125 offered here was purchased on 08.09.2017 from a dealer in southern Germany. At the time of purchase, the dealer carried out a new main inspection (with simultaneous individual operating permit), including H-approval. The car was originally imported from Italy (Jan. 2017) and comes from the small region of Molise, which already belongs to southern Italy. The region is characterised by the mountains of the Apennines and the Adriatic coast. Until 1963, Molise was not an independent region, but part of a joint administrative unit with Abruzzo, which borders it to the west. The first owner from the provincial capital of Campobasso, Sig. Fantacone, registered the car on 13.03.1968 and was himself born on 18.02.1899 - the same year as the foundation on 11.07.1899 of the Italian car factory FIAT in Turin. The FIAT 125 was offered between spring 1967 and mid 1972 as a new mid-size sedan. The car was available with the same engine/& displacement with 90 or 100 hp. The original Italian model is often confused with the Polish and Argentinean licensed replicas, which, however, had various technical modifications compared to the original model. The predecessor was the Fiat 1500 (1961-68), which had a trapezoidal body in keeping with the spirit of the times.

Conclusion

Nowadays, a Fiat 125 is usually one of the exotics par excellence at classic car events and certainly attracts more attention for one or the other than the usual participant vehicles on the grounds.
In its condition worthy of preservation, the car is considered a 'forgotten model' among classic cars, although the Fiat was successfully offered and sold as a volume vehicle at the time.
