completely restored condition!
This GT6 has been completely restored and rebuilt by us over the last year and a half. The Triumph was given a new paint job, new mechanical parts, new electronics and parts in the interior.
A great classic that can be used at any time and has been preserved for posterity. In addition to its impressive performance, the GT6 has an unrivalled tight turning circle (less than 8 metres). A normal country road is enough to turn round without having to reverse.
Triumph presented the GT6 in 1966. It was a design by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti, who also designed the TR4 for Triumph. The chassis was based on that of the Triumph Spitfire. In addition, the GT6 was fitted with the 2-litre engine from the Triumph Vitesse, which had an easy time with the lightweight bodywork and generated almost sports car-like performance. The striking and very sporty design with the elongated bonnet and tailgate was strongly reminiscent of the Jaguar E-Type. The GT6 was very well equipped from the factory. In addition to the wooden dashboard with the classic round instruments, a two-stage windscreen wiper, a two-stage heater fan and sports seats were fitted as standard. The Series II also benefited from a modified chassis with improved independent suspension and additional wishbones, as well as a dual-circuit brake system. A total of 12,066 of the second series were built.
